At this point, anytime I hear anything about Jay Electronica‘s Act II: Patents of Nobility, I be like; “Word. Really? Okay.” and then I keep it moving. That’s not really dissing Jay Electronica, but it’s been so long since that project has been promise, I keep thinking that it probably won’t ever come (Can anybody say Detox status?).
Then I hear one of Jay Elect’s very sporadic and rare releases and I almost get excited for Act II again (It should be called Patience of Nobility at this point). Be it the track with Mobb Deep from last year or the stuff he did in 2010, I guess most fans still hope that an album or something will see the light of day at one point (Especially since there’s “official” art for Act II floating around out there).
Take this song for instance, “Dear Moleskine”. The first time people heard this song was a snippet in 2009 on a music video teaser trailer that was never fully released. But still I bob my head to the Just Blaze production, download the track, & post it here. Maybe one day…
