A message from the rest of the nappyafro.com Staff: Before you read this you must understand who Slik P is at nappyafro.com. He is by far the loose cannon on this website. He has far out logic, outrageous and sometimes unchecked claims, and some would go as far as to say that he might be crazy. With all that said, we still back him 100% Here's Slik's first issue of Slik's Corner. Go get em' Slik!
X'Mas: Don't Forget About DMX!
by Slik P

If you Google "Greatest Rappers All-Time" you’ll get a list of so-called Hip-Hop artists that aren’t really all so great. (And I say that because KRS-One is on every list). Every time a rapper gets on TV and they ask them who is his favorite rapper the answers is; "Man, you know what I’m saying, I always listened to Tupac, Biggie, Jay-Z, and Nas". But how the fuck do y’all so called Hip-Hop music lovers and puke ass rappers make a list of greatest and leave "The Dark Man" DMX out every time. To be great you have to do what ain’t been done, then do it again.
1. How many rappers can say there first 5 albums debuted at number 1?

Lie and say Tupac cause that 2Pacalypse Now shit tanked until that nigha died or kidnapped himself, then all the Tupac fans when out and bought it like it was hot. If it wasn’t hot in whatever year it dropped (1991) that bullshit ain’t hot now! (P.S. But I DO got "Brenda Got A Baby" on the SlikPod... Yeah, I call my iPod my SlikPod)
2. Going against the grain
DMX dropped his first album It’s Dark And Hell Is Hot in 1998. That’s when it was cool to rock jewelry and dress cool and all that fly shit. X wore no t-shirt, baggy black jeans, and some Timbo’s and told Hip-Hop and rappers "Y’all think a lot of tough that’s just a front/cause when I hit them nigga’s like what you want/ the battle turns into a hunt" – "Intro" from It’s Dark And Hell Is Hot
Note: In my opinion, only a couple of real nigga’s have came out against the grain and changed the trend: DMX, 50 Cent, Eminem, "Number 1 Lyrical Assassin" Notorious B.I.G., and the 2 best groups in history NWA and Outkast. Everybody else falls on one of these nigga’s dick (NO HOMO). Exclude Lil’ Wayne, he’s a BEAST and don't forget to mention T.I.P./T.I. or Ludacris; 2 of my top 10 favorites
3. Dropping whenever he feels like (kind of)
Notice how certain rappers just claim a month to drop; "I’m a drop all my albums in November, so on December 4th I’ll all ready have my money." Here’s what DMX has done. 2 albums, 1 year, 3 million a piece and that was in that year not 7 years later when he was gunned downed in LA or Las Vega over some bullshit (Rest in peace Biggie and Tupac).

Now u wanna bring up the fact that his last album didn’t do so hot and I agree. I only got like 5 of his songs on the Slikpod (My iPod). I can explain that. The rap game so watered down right now that even the super concentrated rappers are being absorbed.
Tell another lie about how much Jay-Z's last shit Kingdom Come will forever but remember as one of his greatest album ahead of Reasonable Doubt and Blueprint. Or Eminem’s Encore is first chose when u riding and leave The Marshall Matters LP at home. Or how much Tupac fans love Loyal to the Game and wanna banned All Eyez On Me from stores.
You get the point. So If DMX ain’t in your top 5 for greatest of all-time, to quote Jay-Z, "You only get half a bar/ fuck y’all niggas"
This what the top five should look like as of right now:
5. Lil’ Wayne
4. Eminem
3. DMX
2. Jay-Z
1. Biggie
Now! Go Bengals! & Texas Longhorns!
