If you’ve been watching Lecrae for tha past few years, you know that he’s been steadily building up his fanbase. We’ve seen rappers do this before but besides the fact that Lecrae is independent, he also technically a Christian rapper (I say “technically” because to me he’s like K.R.I.T. but without the songs about strippers).
Lecrae also sells more albums than a lotta better known artists. For example, his lastest album Gravity is the #3 album in the country and sold 60,000 copies last week. That’s not a crazy number but look at it like this: Gravity sold almost as much as DJ Khaled’s Kiss The Ring did in 3 weeks, 10k more than Slaughterhouse’s Welcome To: Our House in it’s first week, and basically 20k more than Waka Flocka’s Triple F Life did in it’s first week. Not bad at all.
