Scream is my favorite horror film of all time and I believe that Wes Craven and Kevin Williamson have created one of the best franchises in the genre. In a world of zombie obsession and paranormal galore, I feel left out when the list of the latest scary movies are released. Slasher films get my attention the most because people scare me.
Scream is revered for being a film filled with characters aware of the world they live in, they’re not oblivious to pop culture and contemporary America. That theme continued in Scream 4 and masterfully absorbed the celebrity worship we see today in media and politics. I believe that the last installment of Scream is underrated and deserves the credit for changing horror genre’s previous killers’ tired revenge schemes to attention seeking murders in this new generation. ~ Short-T
