I think the most basic thing I could do with an edition of Song of the Week that takes place on the day before Thanksgiving, is to feature a song like Goodie Mob‘s “Soul Food”. Well, I can’t do that because I already did that years ago.
But then I realized there is a remix of “Soul Food” so here we are.
I actually forgot that there was a “Soul Food” remix featuring 8Ball & MJG, which is weird because I remember hearing it on the radio a lot back in the day (At least on V-103). And it took me a while to also remember where this song came from Was it on a LaFace compilation or something? Nah, it was on a maxi-single with the original of “Soul Food” that came out in 1995 (That is where the cool hot sauce cover above comes from).
