Michael Jordan: A Critical Look at the Legend

mj-art-intro-page

Happy birthday. Michael Jordan has hit the half a century mark. If you did not know, ESPN reminded you all week with many video montages of his legendary NBA career. He is the best basketball player to ever live; but realistically, no one should inspire to be “like Mike”. There are many accounts that show you this is not a role model for anyone.

    1. exactly! this article was pointless….I was gonna go on a long rant about how garbage it is but the author might get a false sense of validation

        1. naw homie, I know you didnt write this, although does remind me of your ineptitude. This garbage, i mean really fights with will perdue and steve kerr….dude shoulda put up a pic of his big bruh and told us about the time they fought over the top bunkbed!!! you cant base his greatness on such foolishness…shame on the author for waisting everyones time…#saulewrightisapussy

  1. What can Michael do about people getting killed over his shoes? Since the 80’s that always went down which is sad but what is he suppose to do? People kill over food and other things so business suppose to stop selling food? People get killed over music, so people need to stop making music? Whether Jordan or Nike speak on the killings nothing will not change especially these kids nowadays who probably remember MJ from the Wizards don’t respect Jordan like a lot of us who are in our late 20’s and older. Enough about shoes, MJ had the heart to win the game and it inspired his teammates to play even harder. He wasn’t a ball hog like Kobe was. This is well written but I disagree with the points you made. Anybody who keep saying MJ had a team, well of course he did it’s a team sport its not Boxing or MMA where you are there alone.. That’s a real man sport if you ask me, maybe I’m biased because I do it.

    1. He can make his shoes more reasonable price?
He can connect himself with a charity?
      Speak out about the situation?
There is a long list of things he could do.
If Nike is willing to pay his fines while in the NBA, they would be willing to hear his recommendations if he gave some. He has a huge mental control overNike.

      1. MJ don’t have control on the price of the shoes mayne. Come on my dude…. He can speak on the situation fa sho but you think folks going to listen to Michael Jordan? Especially teenagers nowadays who barely remember Jordan, probably the Wizards Jordan. People need to be held accountable for their own actions. Jordan didn’t tell idiots to grab a gun and shoot people over his product.

        1. I don’t think the idea of him taking a stand against the prices or the killing is unreasonable, and that’s all he’s suggesting. At this point, it’s become a subculture all it’s own but had he said something back then, who knows how many lives and how much crime could have been avoided. That’s all he’s saying. OR if they are going to remain that price, why not connect it to the Boys and Girls clubs of america and funnel some of the profit (that helped make Nike the giant it is) into the inner cities. I don’t think any of that is unreasonable.

        2. so u mean to tell me if jordan were to walk in a board meeting and SUGGEST (not even demand) that they do sumtnin about the prices that they wouldnt listen? like u said “come on my dude…” Nike izz on Jordan’s sak and balls cuz without Jordan there would be no Nike period.

  2. I really wish u would’ve left the last one out cause it seems as if u gave the Jordan lovers an out. If they stop selling his shoes then people will kill over the next thing. And anyone who has no problem with him punching Will Purdue (or Steve Kerr) has huge problems, the Kwame thing is a bad look also. And P-Body us being in our late 20’s means that we understood absolutely nothing about basketball in the mid to late 80s where my elders constantly remind me Jordan was a ballhog, just saying.

    1. They are both “hogs” Jordan had about 5.3 ast per game and Kobe is at about 4.7. So they both share/hog about the same clip.

  3. Will wasn’t the only one that got the raccoon eyes from MJ. Steve Kerr caught an eye jammy too. MJ was still that nigga on the court. The GOAT.

  4. Very interesting… I’ve always found it intriguing how people feel like it’s blasphemy to go at MJ. Dude ain’t perfect.
