I was a little confused when I heard that Spike Lee was gonna remake Chan-wook Park’s 2003 revenge film Oldboy. That’s not a knock at Spike Lee’s directing ability, movies like Inside Man & 25th Hour show versatility. But if you’ve seen the original Oldboy, you know that it’s a movie that’s hard to remake (or at least it feels like that). Will the movie stay faithful to the original’s fucked up ending? And while we’re asking questions, what’s up with Samuel Jackson’s blonde mohawk? All jokes aside, Josh Brolin looks kinda cool in the trailer. I’ll see it. Oldboy will be in theaters on October 25th.
Sidenote: I just mentioned Chan-wook Park in a post recently. Just saying.
