Gene “No Malice” Thorton – Wretched, Pitiful, Poor, Blind and Naked
Release Date: February 14, 2011
Funny enough, No Malice’s story isn’t the first time I’ve read a book of this kind and to be honest, Ma$e’s Revelations: There’s a Light After the Lime may be a better story of a rapper changing his ways because of religion (Wretched, Pitiful, Poor, Blind and Naked may be more honest). Not to say the former Clipse’s rapper doesn’t have an interesting story because not only is it inspirational, it also gives a honest behind-the-scenes look at rap industry. I kinda wish he gave more details about his life before he walked with the righteous side though.
Notable Moment: Most of No Malice’s fears during the book (and maybe reasons for going to Christianity) comes from possibly having A.I.D.S.
Should you read it?: It’s a little rough around the edges, but it’s an easy read. Also maybe good for Christians that like Hip-Hop.
