Pissed off yet? We were…so that let’s you know where this frocast goes. We start out light, but when my lil’ bro and I get together on here the fist goes up. Should we be upset about his anymore? Is it still an issue? Let us know your thoughts in the comments. Also, please know that we’re speaking directly about those in error even when using very general broad qualifiers. We mean you sick fucks out there, not errbody. Ok? ok. The anger starts about 30-35 mins in. There’s music at the end, and um, yeah.
Edit
This from GQ:
“One of the things that got glossed over in the recent black face incident was one of the perpetrators questioning the ‘Black Girls Rock’ ad campaign. They went on to state that if someone were to wear a shirt that said ‘White Girls Rock’ it would considered racist, and that ‘Black Girls Rock’ was reverse racism. The reason it would be in poor taste is because we don’t need a shirt or event or anything to tell us that White women rock because we are constantly reminded everyday that they do. We are reminded because we define a woman’s beauty by European standards. We are reminded when the faces for women’s equality are usually white and unwilling to advocate on the nuanced and specific issues that women of color deal with. We are reminded when we paint black women as hedonistic sex objects whose bodies are only meant for the pleasure of men, while White women are still seen as chaste. We are reminded when we characterize black mothers as welfare queens and pathological baby mommas, although White women are the biggest benefactors of welfare. We know that black women are outpacing almost every other group in terms of education attainment, yet it’s easier for us to visual a black woman twerking than it is for us to see her prescribing you medicine or defending you in court. Yet there is no shortage of images of White Women achieving, whether fictional(on tv shows, movies, etc) or real life. We are reminded when we as Black men. still internalize colorism and say things such as “Oh, you’re pretty for a dark skin chick”(at best) or “I don’t mess with dark skin chicks” (at worst). So yes, White women, you rock. But sistas are out here rocking too, but some how or another we all could use some reminding.”
