Plies – Da Last Real Nigga Left
One of DatPiff’s most popular tapes in the month of January, Da Last Real Nigga Left is Plies return to rap. This tape is just as ignorant and repetitive as Plies stuff has always been. A least there is a hot DJ Mustard beat on here (“Baking Soda” featuring Tyga). (Download)
Papoose – Hoodie Season Pt 2
This is a one note tape. Papoose has some hot lines, but he stays in “real Hip-Hop” mode for 20 straight tracks, and this just isn’t entertaining after a while. If you’re going to connect to fans, you need to share your thoughts, dreams, doubts, failures and beliefs. You can’t just diss people for an hour and expect fans to feel it. (Download)
Cap1 – Caviar Dreams
Cap1 is a 2 Chainz affiliate and sure enough, the biggest track on this tape is the one with a 2 Chainz feature. Cap1 doesn’t bring anything original to this mixtape. Just the same fame, power, aspiration raps that 97% of DatPiff tapes contain. (Download)
Young Thug & Bloody Jay – Black Portland
Young Thug has a been getting a ton of rap blog hype lately, and his minor hits “Danny Glover” and “Stoner” have been picking up steam. But I just don’t get it; I know bloggers love weirdoes from Atlanta for some reason, but I can’t get behind his tape at all. (Download)
