1. Run D.M.C. & Aerosmith – “Walk This Way”
What did you think was going to be number one? It’s impossible to pass on this classic track that was and still is revolutionary. Both Run D.M.C. and Aerosmith smashed the literal wall between rap and rock. “Walk This Way” could easily be the most important rap song next to “The Message” and “Rapper’s Delight”. This mash-up proved that Hip-Hop was a growing culture that had just as much passion if not more than the rock counterparts that were topping the charts at the time. In 2009 Run, D.M.C. and Jam Master Jay become the second Hip-Hop group to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
