#9. Nas
Nas had a remarkable 2010 year. He had to overcome a lot of personal problems, and he did it by doing the one thing he loves – making music. As we all know, Nas went through a painful divorce in 2009 with R&B singer Kelis. However, he teamed up with reggae artist Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley and released Distant Relatives. The album didn’t receive much media attention and it didn’t even go gold. Nevertheless, I still believe it’s the best album I’ve heard in the last five years. Nasir also had a very successful international tour with guests feature on a few records such as DJ Khaled’s Victory. Alongside John Legend, he’s featured on the album’s title track, and as King Jerm says, “God’s Son comes through spitting some of that stuff that made you remember why he is one of the top MC’s ever. DAMN.” – Arkitekt
