Here on the ‘Fro Avenue we will routinely go down the street of my mind to speak on things that interest me. I will talk on a number of things that pertain to the world of Hip-Hop (I.E. Upcoming artist, underrated artist, artist who do stupid shit, and artist that have fallen off). The reason it is being called ‘Fro Ave. (besides the obvious reasons) is I use to live on a street by the same name and fell in love with Hip-Hop here.
Well let’s get to the big dog on the street today. Today’s artist of choice is going to be Juelz Santana. What happened to this cat? I mean he is a pretty talented emcee, and was(or is) apart of one of Hip-Hop’s best crews in history. He claimed that it was Cam’ron who held him back, but he has been off of Killa’s label for almost three years.
With all of that in mind, I have put together a small list of things Juelz can do to gain notoriety again.
1. Put Out Some Music
It has been years since we heard a Juelz Santana album (I don’t think nappyafro.com was even born the last time he dropped). Drop a dope mixtape that forces people to want to listen to you again.
2. Jump On Other People’s Records
With The Diplomats ready to put in work together, you should be the one who takes advantage of the times now. Jump on everybody and they momma’s records. Whore yourself out. Wayne did it and 5 years ago y’all were on the same level, follow his lead.
3. Leave Def Jam
With Nas, Shyne, and now Redman all voicing their opinions on how Def Jam treats rappers its time to bounce. Honestly the only rappers getting the push they need from the legandary label is Kanye West, Rick Ross, and Fabolous. Outside of them who else can you name that is getting their push?
4. Pick The Right Situation To Go To
I think Juelz is one of those cats who would do really well in a crew like say Cash Money. I mean, I know Young Money is doing it big right now, but don’t be fooled into believing the Birdman doesn’t want a beastly crew on Cash Money too.
5. Drop I Can’t Feel My Face With Wayne
This one ties in with the previous suggestion. They claimed that label issues were the reason I Can’t Feel My Face did not happen, and with signing to a label like Cash Money, that problem is eliminated. His buzz would grow from doing so many songs with Weezy alone.
