Reebok caved under the pressure and dropped Rick Ross behind his lyric on “U.O.E.N.O” which by the way ain’t even his song. Here is the statement released by Reebok to Billboard:
“Reebok holds our partners to a high standard, and we expect them to live up to the values of our brand. Unfortunately, Rick Ross has failed to do so. While we do not believe that Rick Ross condones sexual assault, we are very disappointed he has yet to display an understanding of the seriousness of this issue or an appropriate level of remorse. At this time, it is in everyone’s best interest for Reebok to end its partnership with Mr. Ross,” Reebok said in a statement to Billboard.
So, what did they think they were getting into when they signed him on in the first place? I guess selling dope and killing people is bad, but not as bad as date rape. Props go out to Ross for standing his ground on this issue, and a big middle finger goes out to Reebok, for doing the deal in the first place.
