Frank Ocean has done basically what we all figured would happen when Blond Blonde dropped; he now has the #1 album in the country.
Blonde (I still prefer Blond because that’s what it says on the album art) is Frank’s first #1 album and his biggest debut selling around 275,000 units (Channel Orange debuted at #2 back in 2012 and sold around 131,000).
Blonde is also the third biggest release of 2016 behind Drake’s Views and Beyoncé’s Lemonade. Blonde also had a great (or worst) week on the illegal download front with a the album possibly being illegal downloaded 753,000 times.
I honestly think Frank would’ve have the #1 and #2 spot on the charts if his other album, Endless, was eligible for the Billboard charts.
Tory Lanez‘s debut album I Told You also grabbed the #4 spot this week with 52,000 copies sold. I haven’t checked out the album yet but it’s on the “Listen To” pile.
I had no idea that the soundtrack for Suicide Squad held the #1 spot for the previous two weeks. See, that movie wasn’t that bad.
Even though Rihanna kinda curved him last night, Drake‘s album Views has been killing the charts for a large portion of this year. It’s been either the #1 or #2 album on the charts since May.
