*R.I.P. to the victims of the church massacre in Sutherland Springs, Texas. Something needs to change in this country!*
Christopher Brent Wood got my full attention for an hour today as I Googled, Wiki’d, YouTubed, and Soundclouded any information I could find on his musical alias, Brent Faiyaz. The evidence has been in front of me for the last two months. Goldlink’s song, “Crew” plays on the Dallas Hip-Hop radio stations every day. The former XXL freshman‘s song features a verse from Shy Glizzy and a smooth chorus sung by Baltimore native, Faiyaz.
After the release of his debut project, the 5 song EP, A.M. Paradox in 2016, he formed the group Sonder with producers Atu and Dpat and for 2017, released the critically-acclaimed, Into. Dude is kind of a recluse, while he did go on tour earlier this year, he mostly lets the music speak for him and focuses on his craft. In today’s era, I HIGHLY RESPECT that choice. Today’s post is from his debut solo album, Sonder Son, which was released on Friday the 13th, last month. Do your Googles and check out the 22-year-old’s already stellar output.
Brought to tears after the news of the shooting at Sutherland Springs church. My heart goes out the victims and their families.❤️
