I still think people should give G-Eazy a listen if they haven’t already or don’t think he has substance. I was surprised by how good his last album, When It’s Dark Out was when I pressed play. “No Limit” featuring Cardi B and A$AP Rocky is currently #24 on the Billboard Hot 100. While I am happy for Gerald’s success and ability to follow up after the massive success of “Me, Myself & I” featuring Bebe Rexha, but hearing problematic Rocky say “It ain’t safe for the Black or the White girls” during the era of investigations and allegations of sexual misconduct in Hollywood makes me cringe every time I hear it on the radio.
Fortunately, here’s another fun party song about excess for me to enjoy that isn’t dripping with rape culture, just a nice, clean black and white visual of an out of control mansion party.
The album and short film, The Beautiful & Damned will be available on December 15th. Peep the trailer below.
