It took half of Saturday, but we finally got KTSE, the second major label album from the 1st lady of G.O.O.D. Music, Teyana Taylor. It has been a long journey from her first album VII to here. The wife and mother is at her most visible moment at this point in her career. While the musical output has slowed down in the last 4 years, we’ve seen her appear in the “Fade” video, slay runways at New York Fashion Week (Happy Pride Month from your ally, Short-T), and of course, her reality VH1 reality show. Today’s post is Junie’s Mom’s gratitude to all of the mistakes and heartbreaks that laid the foundation and tested her strength. S/O to Marvin Sapp for the blueprint that birthed this song.
Speaking of wins and losses, I’m including another favorite of mine from the 8 track album, “Rose In Harlem”. I thought it was too Rap-leaning to be my official pick for R&B Sunday.
