“We’ve always loved Horror, it’s just that Horror hasn’t always loved us.” – Tananarive Due, Author/Educator.
Horror Noire is a documentary that I have been wanting to watch since I first saw the trailer last year. The Shudder original is a showcase of Black filmmakers and actors discussing the history of Black people in one of my favorite film genres. The Horror streaming service has lowered their paywall in these trying times to show their appreciation for Black creatives by sharing the critically acclaimed doc without a subscription.
Ashlee Blackwell and Tananarive Due hosted a Q&A at last year’s Toronto International Film Festival following the documentary’s showing.
