31 More Days of Black Women In Horror: Week 3

One Dark Night (1983)- Starring Leslie Speights

As part of an initiation into a club called the Sisters, a young girl must spend the night in a mausoleum.

My oldest sister is not a horror fan so I tried to get her to watch a PG-13 Horror movie for Spooky Season. She didn’t realize that there are plenty of horror films designated for teens. Fun Fact: The PG-13 rating wasn’t introduced until 1984. Not only did Spielberg invent the term “blockbuster” thanks to the success of his PG-rated Jaws, but he also had a hand in the invention of a new rating between PG and R after parents’ outrage over Indiana Jones and The Temple of Doom and Gremlins. All that to say I bet this PG movie from ’83 is F’d up and not suitable for Pre-Teens. Can’t wait to watch it!
