R&B is a multifaceted genre that can cover the emotional gamut. Love, pain, hurt, joy. From sorrow over a cheating lover to happiness over finding the one you want to spend the rest of your life with.
Which is all well and good, but to me Rhythm and Blues is at its best when it’s bedroom focused, aka talking about doing the nasty. Drake proteges’ dvsn (pronounced division) do just that with “Too Deep”, a song that manages the difficult balance of being sultry and seductive, while also being blunt and ratchet (the very first line of the song is “I won’t make you pull out.”)Daniel Daley and producer Nineteen85 put together a song that’ll give you the confidence to jump in the DMs. Be prepared for that “I’m late” text.
“Too Deep” is from dvsn’s debut album SEPT. 5TH, which debuted exclusively on iTunes March 27th and hit everywhere April 1st.
