What’s up people? It’s Sunday, I’m chilling. My computer has been acting like a punk lately so I’m still playing catch up with some posts. I don’t know if you all are familiar with Nicki Minaj. She is the first lady signed to Lil’ Wayne’s Young Money label (She kinda raps like Wayne a little to me; Ghostwriting?). Well, a few weeks ago she recreated Lil’ Kim’s famous Hard Core ad for her Sucka Free mixtape. What’d you guys think?

  1. Imitation is a form of flattery. I think that it’s nothing more than that. That Lil Kim cover/poster is probably the most successful and memorable of all time. I wish we could have another emcee that wasn”t molded by the mens image again like we used to.

  8. I like the Lil Kim one better; she looks likes shes in charge, and sexy at the same time. Nicki Minaj is sexy for sure, but she looks like some regular sexy girl licking a lollipop(lil wayne’s influence, no doubt). I’ll have to listen to her frist, but so far, she doesn’t give off the impression that this is some new female rapper to reclaim the glory from the men runnin’ this thing.

Nicki comes off too fake & then wonders why many don’t like her. One minute she’s sounding like 5 diff people all in the same song. Then is taking pics just like a platinum female artist. & if u weren’t trying to be her shud have chosen wiser on the theme of the picture. Kim will always be that bitch; when ppl hear lil kim they think yehh she the greatest she the realest. When ppl hear nicki minaj they say oh yeh she was a singer. Come on now grow up & lern how to perform! Big put kim out there cus he knew she had potential! Weezy brought nicki bcus of how she pleasures him on the low. Smh qrow up & stop rappin bout shxt u ain do ur self. & in interviews stop playinq w/ the weave its annoyinq. Start savin $$ for a successful video that mite actually get played on tvee & not jus youtube! & start trying to collaborate with other ppl in the industry other than weezy. U cme out in 06 & ppl hearinn bout chu in 09. One more thing try to make ur own beats .try to bring out a debut album instead of mixtapes hard to find when only bootleggers sell it. I think for a female musician/artist/rapper it is extra pressure because, of the men and them wanting in your business; moneywise or sexwise, so she is doin a great job getting where she is getting whether she is or isn’t giving anything away; that is her bizness anyway and I hope she didn’t but, if she did so what? many do it in the corporate world too and I wish it was not that way but I am sure it is and because I am so into being true to myself and only being with who I am actually into makes it harder for me but if you can be that way and you make it cool for you! Stop comparing her to everyone else, She is herself and so what if her pose is similar to another, many poses are, it is hard to come up with a pose never done before! And you dn’t get the itty bitty piggy and the quarter wrap I will explain, some shopping markets have or had quarters slots to insert in them to release them as they are locked together by a chain so they don’t have to hire a guy to park your cart for you and the piggy is the nursery ryhme that adults do on kids toes, this little piggy went to the market and this little piggy stayed home etc.. now you get it? The girl has ryhming and rapping talent, moves a crowd well and says whatever reminiscent of Mae West back in the day before all the days; let her run with it and give her your support; she will get better and the advice of the 16 year old was really good, I was way impressed, so well thought out but, she will get it, she is so bombarded by all the attention being a pretty hot thang in the biz but she is going far and fast and let’s just support artists who try so hard like this!
