By now I’m sure you’ve heard about Clifford “T.I.” Harris getting released from federal prison today. If you don’t know the story by now: After being sentenced to one year and one day to Arkansas’ Forrest City Prison for federal gun charges back in March 27, 2009 (He started serving on May 26, 2009), T.I. will then spend somewhere between the next two or three months in a halfway house (You can place T.I.’s Road To Redemption somewhere in there).
Now unlike my homie King Jerm, I’m not looking at T.I.P. funny thinking he may have put in work for the the other side and got a easier sentence (Listen to “A Week Ago” if you don’t get it). I’m just happy that a man is closer to his family on X-Mas (I may not celebrate it, but most of America does).
So of course we dedicate this Song of the Week to T.I. with the most appropriate track (And one of my favorites by him), the 2004 semi-Lil’ Flip diss “Welcome Back”.
“A million sold still it ain’t a nigga real as me/Besides imagery the finest form of flattery/But now it time to welcome back the nigga niggas rather see”
