In anticipation for the 2011 Hip-Hop Awards, BET has released two cyphers. The first one up above includes Chris Sutton, XV, Jay Rock, & Gilbere Forte. And the second one below has Rico Staxx, Wais P, Termanology, Sean Cross, & French Montana (With Mike Epps, host of this year’s award show, at the end).
These cyphers aren’t bad at all (Premier uses “Big Payback” as the instrumental this year) but of course I’m looking forward to the line-up that will appear on the actual show (Maybach Music, Kendrick Lamar, Tech N9ne, & Big K.R.I.T. just to name a few). I’m wondering though. If you get the call saying you gonna be in a BET Hip-Hop Awards Cypher, but then find out it’s only gonna be on the BET website, are you pissed a little bit?
Also, I think these two will be the only ones BET will releases early. If they released ALL the cyphers, what reason would you have to watch the award show?
Sidenote: The actual taping of the 2011 BET Hip-Hop Awards took place this weekend in Atlanta and then will broadcast on October 11th (Rap-Up has pictures). Spoiler alert: T.I. performs and so does DMX. Supposedly nobody from Young Money showed up.
