No real theme between these songs. Just had some time between reviews & watching movies so I wrote up something about the music I’m listening to right now. Then I saw that all the songs here were sample heavy so I put the original song sampled below the song title. And don’t ask why I got a picture of monkey riding a bicycle up above; the reason escape me too.
Action Bronson – “Action”
Sample: Peter Gabriel – “In Your Eyes”
What else is there to say here other than Action Bronson rhymes over Peter Gabriel’s “In Your Eyes”? And it’s not even like they added drums or anything; it’s just a loop with Bronson doing his thing. It’s also pretty awesome. This is from Peter Rosenberg’s What’s Poppin’ Vol. 1.
Stige – “We Gon Take It To The Moon”
Sample: Jay-Z & Kanye West feat. Beyoncé – “Lift Off”
I don’t know if anybody else has looped the breakdown part of Kanye & Jay-Z’s “Lift Off”, but they should have. So far this is the only one I’ve heard and it’s done very well. I don’t much about Stige but this song has been on my iPod for some months and I can’t even remember where I got it from.
2 Chainz feat. Dolla Boy & Raekwon – “Letter To Da Rap Game”
Sample: Gladys Knight – “License To Kill”
2 Chainz’s T.R.U. REALigion dropped in the beginning of this month but this track is hands down the best song off that mixtape. The Gladys Knight sample is some epic shit. It’s tracks like these that remind me of why 2 Chainz is hot right now and that he may be the next street rapper to really blow up. “Wu-Tang ain’t nothin’ to fuck with. 2 Chainz ain’t nothin’ to fuck with…”
