I would give the album a strong 4.5 out of 5 also. This is really off a first listen or two though. Born Sinner reminded me of Game’s Jesus Piece with all the religious references. I love both of these albums. Game’s album had a lot more features backing him to make it great. J. Cole stood on his own mostly lyrically and made a good album. His crutch instead of the features was well known classic Hip-Hop samples. But if it worked for Kendrick Lamar, why not for the kid from Fayetnam? That is the only “disadvantage” it has. Other than that, it is pretty great. For him to get TLC on his album is crazy. Drake wish he would have thought of that. Cole put his heart out to his fans and that is what separates the artist from a rapper. Cole will be back. There will be no more UPS for him if the music keeps coming out like this.
