B.o.B
In the last three years since B.o.B Presents The Adventures of Bobby Ray, the Grand Hustle records signee has become less than favorable with Hip-Hop fans as he has found commercial success. Fortunately for him, his Juicy J and T.I. collaboration, “We Still In this B!tch”, has brought back his hood acclaim. The musically diverse rapper from Decatur, Georgia entered the stage with “Epic” playing. From there he performed, “Strange Clouds”, “Ray Bands”, found time to slow things down for the ladies with “Nothin’ On You”, and his latest single “Headband” which featured a quartet of women in red shorts and of course, headbands.(Note: He was the first to have females on stage). He returned back to the up-tempo joints with Playboy Tre on “Bet I Bust” and acknowledged the smokers with a smoke break courtesy of one of his first songs, “Cloud 9”. “Play For Keeps”, “Ain’t Worried About Nothing Freestyle”, “Out Of My Mind”, and “Still In This B!tch”, performed once on stage and then once while in the crowd, ended his set. He exited on a somber note as he gave a rest in peace to the late, great radio personality, Kidd Kraddick, and reminded fans that “that boy good” with or without his guitar.
Grade: A-
The only downside of an artist like B.o.B is the fact that he has a lot of material to choose from when performing so obviously some songs are going to be missing from a performance: “Airplanes”, “Memories Back Then”, “Smart Girl”, “F’d Up”, “Beast Mode”, “I’ll Be In The Sky”, “Don’t Let Me Fall”, and “Generation Lost”.
