Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik made me (and the rest of the country) fall in love with ATL without even making the trip.I eventually DID make the transition to Atlanta for school. Everything about this album was new and classic from the moment Peaches welcomed me to a new sound and the city I’ve always loved. Some folks rejected it’s soulful basslines and sometimes conscious stylings…but now many point to Outkast as the moment the South became relevant in the Hip-Hop discussion. This album awarded them the best newcomer category and was the groups first of MANY platinum albums. – Saule Wright
