Song of the Week: Outkast – “GhettoMusick”

Not only did we just pass the 20th-year anniversary for Outkast‘s Speakerboxxx/The Love Below (originally released on September 23, 2003), but Outkast’s fifth studio album is now the highest-selling rap album in history with 13 million copies sold. While Speakerboxxx/The Love Below is a double album that is basically just solo albums from Big Boi and André 3000, for the Song of the Week, let’s pick a song from the project where they appear together.

André produced three songs on Speakerboxxx and appeared on one, while Big Boi appeared on one song on The Love Below. I feel like “Roses” has already gotten a lot of shine, so let’s go with “GhettoMusick”. Interestingly, in our video WHERE WE RANKED EVERY OUTKAST ALBUM, we stated that “GhettoMusick” might be the worst song on Speakerboxxx/The Love Below. But it’s still a good song; just bad for Outkast. Congratulations to Big Boi and André, and check out the Song of the Week below.
