Sir Spike Lee from Da Republic of Brooklyn might be on his third (or fourth) resurgence after a successful first season and season two renewal of the Netflix adaptation of his inaugural joint, She’s Gotta Have It. Before he jumps into the world of comic book superheroes with the Cheo Hodari Coker written script for Marvel’s Nightwatch, Spike reigns in his world of racially charged dramas. BlacKkKlansman is the true story of Colorado Springs PD Det. Ron Stallworth, a Black man, infiltrating the local chapter of the Ku Klux Klan in the 70’s.
Starring John David Washington, Adam Driver, Topher Grace, and Laura Harrier, the Jordan Peele and Jason Blum produced film, already enjoying rave reviews as part of the Cannes Film Festival, will arrive in theaters on August 10th.
