Because of this album, I will now be judging if an album is good enough to soundtrack my trip to the grocery store. Kali Uchis has been the highlight on every Tyler, The Creator song I’ve heard her on and I have been checking for her solo work since the release of “Loner” and “Ridin Round”. She came thru and over-exceeded any expectation I had with Isolation. She can do any sub-genre of R&B and work with any producer. “Just A Stranger” with Steve Lacy should be on everyone’s “Best of 2018” list. “Feel Like A Fool” sounds like she had a seance to resurrect Amy Winehouse. “In My Dreams” produced by Gorillaz frontman, Damon Albarn, could’ve fit on the Scott Pilgrim vs. The World soundtrack. I’ve already talked about my love of the Kevin Parker/Tame Impala produced “Tomorrow”. She can even do “Nuestro Planeta”, an all Spanish Reggaeton song with Reykon. LISTEN TO THIS ALBUM!!! Highly recommended, truly something for everyone to love.
