This morning when I woke up, somebody had sent David Banner‘s new video, “Swag” to our inbox. I was half sleep and I already heard the song, so I posted it in the Forums and went about my day since the video wasn’t really anything special.
But the video did give me a chance to re-listen to “Swag” all day at work, I had the song in my head (Especially the line, “I am no preacher, bitch I’m a teacher…”). Obviously this Banner is more “Cadillac On 22’s” than “Play”. He also does a great job of delivering a message over something that Rick Ross, Waka Flocka, or Lil’ B would be comfortable rapping over (“Whoop. Whoop”). Matter of fact, this could play in the club with no problem, which should be the aim of any rapper wanting to get out a message to the masses.
Everybody in my city pushing keys and that’s all these kids see
If that’s the only thing they hear then that’s
The only thing they’ll be, we call it: “Swag, swag, swag!”
We call it “Swag, swag, swag!”
The homies is busting slugs, the women is shaking ass
The white girls call us “nigga” and
We just sit back and laugh and call it “Swag, swag, swag!”
We call it: “Swag, swag, swag!”
