Frank Ocean
There is not much I can say about the Odd Future member that has not already been said about him in 2012. His album, Channel Orange was incredible. The singles, “Pyramids” and “Thinking About You,” became fans favorites and turned doubters into fan of his music. His open letter about his past relationships also brought extra attention to Frank Ocean, but it was always his music that was the main topic of discussion. For a man that has criticized media for classifying him as an R&B singer, “I’m an artist, first and foremost. I don’t like boxes. Whether you’re singing or rapping or spoken word, any combination you love, the lyrics sheet should always read well. So that’s how I approach everything, no matter what I’m doing,” he sure knows how to sing about the blues of being morally lost in the world, heartbroken, super rich, and addicted to crack over rhythmic production extremely well.
