Three Things We Learned from WWE Night of Champions 2013

Alberto Del Rio Needs Repackaging/Reviving
WWE has tried, and tried to find a way to make him work. Something about him just doesn’t work. The shining moment being when he won the belt back and chastised the people for not supporting him. That real, break the 4th wall role was golden. They failed by not adding the attitude and flamboyant arrogance that got him over when he first arrived. It was a statement, with no teeth. Valid, but had no bite. It was worn out just as soon as it started. When losing your announcer also kills your heat, it’s pretty much a wrap for you as a character. He got some good heat when he beat down Ricardo, but they seem to have lost all of that by pairing Ricardo with RVD…now the folks don’t care about either character. ADR needs to go back to the cars, back to arrogance, back to talking down to folks based on being a rich, bitch. Hell, join the corporation if possible or if he reaches back to that reality moment he had, he can run with The Real Americans. I don’t know, but he needs to be repackaged and fast. Nobody cares about him and even when he’s taunting RVD with the ADR gesture, nobody gives a damn. – Saule Wright
