First Impressions: The 50 Best Hip-Hop Intro Tracks

9. Xzibit – “Front 2 Back”
Produced By Rockwilder ~ Album: Restless (2000)

Around the late 90’s and the first few years of the 2000’s west coast Hip-Hop was on a roll. Dr. Dre’s comeback brought the attention back to lowriders and Cali bud. While Snoop, Nate, and Ice Cube were all still doing their thing. Then along came X’s Restless album, a homage to the Cali way of living and dying.

Xzibit made sure “Front 2 Back” bounced its’ way into listener’s minds and kept the ball rolling throughout this album. This song plays as a warning to newcomers to the west while also being a crowd favourite at X’s concerts.

Memorable Lines:

You get tied down to the tracks
Used to make a living cookin coke to crack, now I can’t turn back
This is holocaust rap nigga, overreact
And I’mma bring to yo’ chest like an asthma attack, ya heard?
