A lot was riding on Lupe Fiasco back in 2005/2006. With ringtone rap and snap music at the height of its unfortunate fame rap fans were left with wanting more from their music. Lupe was heralded as the second coming of rap’s “golden era”.
A load of pressure was put onto the young Chi-Town MC to deliver quality material and deliver he did. His classic debut was opened up with this shiny gem which gave a clear indication that hip-hop was not dead. It was just on life support while guys like Lupe emerged to save the genre.
