5 Things I Learned From WWE NXT Arrival

Alexander Rusev… I Get it.

So my boy JPM and I went back and forth on how to bring Rusev in and both of us touched on similar examples of this sort of debut. With Kreative apparently trying to balance his dominance and  the mistake of making him too tough and pushing him too fast (aka RyBERG) it seems like they’ve settled on vignettes on both Raw and Smackdown every week…until….well, that’s the problem. There seems to be no solid idea of how to bring him in.

We know from the Rumble that they want him to be a big bruising bulldozer, but what else is new. My problem with that traditional gimmick, as I learned last night, this guy is agile as hell. His kicks are lethal, he’s quick and moves like a man 1/3 his size..and I found all that out with about 4 moves in the match. I mean, the match was so short, even WWE only has 1 picture and it’s him standing over the competition. Maybe the vignettes don’t show his abilities so you can be wowed by it when you see it? I don’t know but he’s a bonafied athlete. I get it. The dirt sheets talk about him being the real deal and one of the guys they plan to build the next generation on…hopefully, they don’t limit him.
