The hardest working band in Hip-Hop return. Well, I guess you can’t really say “return” seeing that The Roots are on network TV every weeknight. But to get people ready for their upcoming album And Then You Shoot Your Cousin, The Roots drop the song “When The People Cheer”.
“When The People Cheer” takes up right where the last album, Undun, left off (I’m not counting that shit they did with Elvis Costello). While only clocking in barely over three minutes, “When The People Cheer” is full of emotion, great production, and dope lyrics. And since I assume And Then You Shoot Your Cousin is a conceptual album, I’m sure this song can be appreciated more when I know the full story.
And Then You Shoot Your Cousin drops on May 13th.
