Just like their brilliantly dark album …And Then You Shoot Your Cousin, this video for The Roots‘ “Never” is metaphor for going through the Black experience in America. The visuals are creepy and depressing with a protagonist running through a post-apocalyptic world, attempting to escape this hell. There is next no color and people with literally no faces, which runs parallel with Black Thoughts’ ominous lyrics of struggle. Directed by Dano Cerny
