3. My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy (2010)

Standout Tracks: “Dark Fantasy”, “Monster”, “Gorgeous”, “Runaway”, “Power”, “Lost In The World”, “Devil In A New Dress”, “So Appalled”, “Blame Game”

Here we have the most ambitious and most highly acclaimed of all Kanye West albums. Not much to say about My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy other than it’s nothing, but an endless firestorm. This album was Ye giving us his dark side, or rather his “Dark Fantasy” to be precise. He was confessing his flaws, yet embracing them as well. Not only that, but Ye was spitting his ass off on this album and even spit a few verses that felt more poetic than like on the track “Lost In The World” for example.

The production was dark and top notch and, as seen present day, has influenced numerous amounts of current hip hop production styles being heard today. This album is also packed with pretty amazing verses from Hip-Hop artists like Jay Z, Raekwon, Pusha T, RZA, Rick Ross, CyHi Da Prince, and even a monstrous verse from Nicki Minaj who steals the show on the track “Monster”. This album also features vocals from Rihanna, John Legend, Bon Iver, Kid Cudi, and the other dozen other people you never noticed on the track “All of The Lights”. There’s also a hilarious Chris Rock outro skit on the track “Blame Game”.

All in all, this album is dark, packed with great hard-hitting verses, and overall just a great album to listen to. High replay value with this shit here. If you’re a Kanye fan and you haven’t checked this out then you’re not a Kanye fan.

(Sidenote: Check out the track “Hell of Life” if you want to see Kanye predict his future.)
