I’m going to California this summer, my mind has really been on creating a Spotify playlist for the beach. If I don’t do anything else on this trip, I’ll be happy as long as I get to play Calvin Harris’s “Slide” while the waves move around me. While doing my research, I found a playlist from hypebeasts’ new favorite love, Scottie Beam. The Black Girl Podcast co-host has a monthly series of playlists, entitled #PutYouOn, on her Soundcloud filled with songs that she believes everything should be listening to by the end of the month.
“Drinkin'” by JMSN appears on this month’s playlist. I’ve seen the Michigan one man band’s name before on several blogs, but I think the only time I’ve ever come closing to listening to him has come thanks to the These Days outro, “WROh” from Ab-Soul. (Whatever happened to their collabo album, Unit 6?)”Drinkin'” from his latest album, Whatever Makes U Happy is going on the playlist and I’m checking the album for more songs to add.
