R&B Sunday: Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings – “Matter Of Time”

his post could have easily been anything off the 1973 Motown Christmas albums, but I decided to start a new Christmas tradition. Every Sunday around Christmas, I will dedicate a R&B post to Miss Sharon Jones. The lead singer of The Dap-Kings passed away on November 18, 2016 to pancreatic cancer. Soul of a Woman, her final performance featuring her longtime band, The Dap-Kings, was released this year. Enjoy “Matter of Time” and R.I.P to her Daptones Records labelmate Charles Bradley, who passed away this year to stomach cancer, he appears in the live performance/BTS video of Sharon and her family on the road entertaining fans around the world. Bless you and thank you, Miss Jones.

For those that want to hear something themed to the season, enjoy this cut from their It’s A Holiday Soul Party album. Merry Christmas!
