As with the last two Song of the Week entries, I’m going with songs I wish I had wrote about in 2019. My introduction to Duke Deuce was through Instagram/Twitter memes taken from his music video for “Crunk Ain’t Dead”. And when I found out that DJ Paul & Juicy J produced this track for the Memphis rapper, it all made sense.
But it’s the dance moves by Duke Deuce and his crew in the “Crunk Ain’t Dead music video (and also “Grab A…”) that makes this whole thing stand out. I just hope crunk infused gangster music with choreographed routines is a thing that I see more off in 2020. Because why not?
