Ziwe/The Amber Ruffin Show
SHOWTIME/PEACOCK/NBC

Trevor Noah and Desus & Mero have been holding it down for so long with their late-night shows, now it’s time to hear from some Black women.

Ziwe Fumudoh wasn’t on my radar much last year except for a few mentions of her Instagram Live interview with YesJulz. Everyone flocked to her IG Lives for discussions with celebrities about race and politics that had her guests looking very unprepared and uninformed about people (of color) around them. Her show, Ziwe is comprised of two interviews, a few sketches, a remote, and a musical performance from the host herself. Based on my watching on the first episode, the Desus & Mero writer brings energy and perspective that is needed on my laptop screen. Airs every Sunday on Showtime.

Amber Ruffin has been a bright spot with every appearance she made and makes on Late Night With Seth Myers. The Late Night writer now hosts her own talk show on Peacock with no guests or musical performances, just all monologue and sketches with her announcer, Tarik Davis. keeping her company. Every Friday on Peacock/NBC.
