Megan Thee Stallion returns with a new single and music video in the form of “LOVER GIRL.” The first thing that jumps out to me is that the JacobDior-produced track samples one of my favorite R&B songs of all time, “Kissin’ You” by Total, and thankfully, “LOVER GIRL” does the sample justice.
The song, which is basically an ode to Megan Thee Stallion’s man, feels like part of a rollout that goes hand in hand with the rollout of Megan’s relationship, but I’m not here to speculate anything. I like the song and the visuals; from the booty-shaking scenes to Meg dressing up as a sexy cupid, I approve of it all.
