DMF of the Week: G. Dep

I am by no means saying MURDER is acceptable, BUT confessing to a murder that has been on the books for 17 years and unsolved is DUMB! G. Dep walked into a precinct and turned himself in for what he thought was a simple shooting. Little did he know that the man had died as a result of the shooting. I may sound dumb for saying this but, I BELIEVE IN LETTING THE POLICE DO THEIR JOB! It is up to them to show my guilt…I’m not turning myself in for something that I got away with! How many unsolved murders are in New York? This would have been one that would have been left unsolved! Maybe the guilt was getting the best of him, but he did leave us with this gem of a statement…

“When they told me, I was like, ‘Oh, I’m not going home after this?” – G. Dep

Congrats G. Dep. You are the latest induction for the nappyafro DMF!

  1. Yeah I do agree with you on G-Dep side which was dumb but in a way you have to put yourself in the family shoes of the slain victim. What person wouldn’t want to know who took the life of a family member or friend. Guilt is something else I tell ya and if anybody that have a conscious would probably mention it too. I know personally me I’ll feel guilty if I killed or shot somebody if its not self defense. G-Dep tried to rob that man so I can’t feel sorry for G Dep. The fool got what he deserved. That is less idiots on the street we have to worry about.

Maybe somebody will confessed about who killed Jam Master Jay, 2Pac, Fat Pat, and Notorious BIG.

    1. I co- sign. The dude had to get that off his mind. He killed an innocent man for no reason. I commend G.Dep for doing this.

    2. THIS is what the victim’s family had to say about G. Dep’s confession:

The stepbrother of the man shot to death by former Bad Boy rapper G-Dep — who inadvertently confessed to the crime 17 years later — said the hapless hip-hop artist was foolish to cop to the cold case.

“I think he’s an idiot,” said Robert Henkel, 56, whose then-32-year-old stepbrother, John, was blasted in the chest with three bullets on Oct. 19, 1993.

“He has three kids and a wife. It was years and years and years ago. Finally, we’re not always thinking about it . . . and now it has to be dug up all again…I’ve got mixed emotions about this whole thing . . . [Coleman] might have made something of his life.”

      1. Yea I read that on allhiphop

        Smh!

I also think GDep probably was trying to do this as a publicity stunt that went wrong. Now this is a good sketch for Dave Chappelle!

  2. Damn thats a tuff break 4 somebody trying to do a good thing. I just realized if he didnt think the guy died why would he be feeling guilty? Why would it be eating him up if he thought the guy was still living. I think he confessed to this because he fell on hard time maybe he wanted to go to Jail so he could get food and shelter? Or maybe he wanted to get caught for this to help his career, maybe he thinks he goes to Prison for a year or so for attempted murder and it helps resurface his name in the rap world.
