  1. This is a amazing mixtape to me. The production alone warrants a download, but Rockie also showed up lyrically. I thought that signing to MMG was going to change his sound (Wale), but he still doing what his fans have gotten used to. Big ups to Rockie Fresh to dropping this.

  2. Does any one really like this guy, or do they just like him because he’s trendy? The Gucci-Flocka song he jacked for his hit was a much better song, naturally, than the song he actually made, and everything else is sleepy, Kid Cudi-esqe stuff with a delorean gimmick. Fantastic. This guy will probably blow up.

    1. I don’t necessarily think Rockie Fresh is like Kid Cudi, I just think this whole electric thing is where the young kids are going these days. Plus, Rockie isn’t as sing-songy as Cudi and I could never see him making a rock album.

      1. How can you not hear the similarities? He’s doing the self-hate, half sing-songy thing, maybe not as intensely, but there are huge similarities. I mean, there is a little bit of that Drake dissociation from joy too.

        1. I think you talking more about aesthetics than the actual music. Just because two guys both wear Nike MAG’s don’t mean they sound the same. Actually, to me Rockie sounds a little like Big Sean.

          1. That’s not even the aim of my comment though. I wasn’t commenting on their wear and how they push themselves. I’m talking about vocally and, a lot of times, the content. Rockie spits in that same deadening tone that Cudi has, Sean spits with a more liveliness, sometimes he does that singy songy flow like Cudi. Content-wise Rockie sometimes does that same sort of depressing guy shit, but he also lulls into Big Sean territory. You’re assuming I’m making superficial comments where I am not at all doing.
