Follow us @saulewright @nappyafro @GQ_Blu #frocast #fronation.

Part 2 in the house and we hope it’s as good as the last one as we continue our discussion on classic hip hop albums, this time from 2000 and beyond. We get a LOT of love from the nation and staff on this one to help us move the discussion along. No way we could discuss all the albums, but we gave it a good shot. As with any list, there are snubs/faves that don’t get discussed. So tune in and see how much you agree or disagree with us.

  1. Another great, funny episode of the frocast. The debates/conversations were great from talking about T.I., Jay-Z, Nas, Kanye, Cam’ron, etc. Pretty much most of the albums that were mentioned on this episode are classics. Also, some of the albums that were mentioned are classics, I may feel like are good/great albums, but not classics. But anyway, like last week’s episode, I enjoyed this episode too. And if so, I’ll be looking forward to Pt. 3 on The Classics.

  2. Saule really think Rakim is the best? Smh… Saule my homie and all but dammit. Rakim will never be the best. He was great for his time back in 86-90 but Nasty Nas surpassed him in 91 on Main Source album. Smh @ Rakim for being salty at Nas for making a song about him was ridiculous, he should be happy that Nas praised him since that is who inspired him. Right now Project Pat is better than Rakim and I’m serious.

  3. I do agree with Saule about Common “Like Water For Chocolate” being a classic, that LP is ill along with BE, and One Day It All Make Sense. Drake “So Far So Gone” is classic? Ha! @ GQ-Blu, Nas “Stillmatic” isn’t classic at all but it is good. I remember when I bought the cd in 2001 and I was pissed because the reviews I read from The Source magazine giving out 5 mics. “It Was Written” is classic though and Nas best album. That Boston explosion remind me of the 1996 Olympics down in the A, sad shit. Good show though. Ya’ll need to stop shitting on B’G’z though, dude was ill. Free B.G…. I forgot to say Slim Thug “Already Platinum”, and Soulja Slim “A Year Later”

  4. Cam’ron? Really?! C’mon man. The whole distinction about what qualifies a classic album was problematic, especial the justication of ‘Cultural Classic’. Content, Beats, Lyrics, & whether or not you can play the album straight thru, that’s the recipe for a classic. This was never addressed.Culture Classic= heavy promotion and shouldn’t even count. AND Nikki set female rappers back two decades. That broad is straight Female rappers get no promo UNLESS, they’re straight gangsta & they have major promo. That broad is straight garbage SMDH

    1. Opinions and assholes bruh. Sorry to see you go.
