10. Tech N9ne – Something Else

I was stuck between Tech N9ne’s Something Else and Deltron 3030’s Event 2 for the final ten spot. These are two albums that deserve recognition, but at the same time I feel like they should’ve been better. Something Else is truly great, but I feel like Tech N9ne tries too hard at times. You can’t knock him for that, but some things just don’t fit. Some of the hooks are on the same water down shit we hear every day on the radio. I’m sure it wasn’t easy to get some of these big names on your album, but I’m tired of hearing shit that sounds the same as everything else. I hope Tech doesn’t fall into this habit. I love that Tech includes around 20 songs for each album, but I feel like if he’d cut that in half, he’ll have an even better album, perhaps album of the year. I picked this over Event 2 because of how many standouts it had.
