3. Danny Brown – Old

Old was one of my most anticipated albums of 2013, and it was probably my most played album of the year as well. The album is divided into two parts, one part being that old school Danny Brown that everyone wants to hear, the other side being more electronic and experimental sounding. I loved Side A, but didn’t feel some of the songs on Side B mainly because of personal taste. I felt that was the only thing holding this album back from album of the year status. Danny Brown has the skills to release an instant classic, but he may need some direction (executive producer/TDE?) to get there.
